Ireland is facing many of affordability issues that we’re dealing with in the U.S. Those issues, along with discussions about the growth of the multifamily sector in Ireland, modular housing and advancements in apartment construction, came to the forefront at the Business Post National Property Summit at the Aviva Stadium in December. The discussions were “geared towards the exploration of the key challenges facing  the Irish property sector in 2019 and beyond whilst also highlighting opportunities in the industry,” according to  the Business Post.

Jackie Rhone (Region VI Regional Vice President) of Greystar, Marcia Bollinger of Apartments.com, Susan Sherfield (Past NAAEI President) of Mercy Housing, Neal Gemassmer of Yardi (based in Netherlands) and Todd Marler of Greystar (based in the UK) participated in the conference, while Brad Williams of Lincoln (Past NAA Chair) and NAA’s Peter Gaviorno were in attendance. The NAA delegation visited the CBRE office in Dublin to obtain a market presentation about the Irish market and Dublin specifically. It also participated in property tours of Greystar’s Quayside Quarter and Dublin Landings and Kennedy Wilson’s Capital Dock as part of the Dublin Property Summit experience.
