HHHunt Corporation has promoted Lance Goss to Senior Vice President of HHHunt Apartment Living. Goss oversees the strategic direction as well as the financial and physical operations of HHHunt Apartment Living, which includes sales, marketing, maintenance and leasing operations for nearly 8,000 apartment homes in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. He is an active member of the Virginia Tech Property Management Advisory Board. Goss is also an active participant in the National Apartment Association as well as other local apartment associations throughout HHHunt’s footprint.

Kristen Azzarone has joined the Chamberlin + Associates team, bringing more than eight years of industry experience to her role as Director of Business Development. Throughout her career, she has worked primarily with Class A+ and lease-up communities, as well as Class B and C value-add communities. This experience gives her the ability to craft innovative solutions to help clients achieve their business goals. Her breadth of professional experiences will enable her to assess clients’ unique needs, build strategic performance plans and ensure they overcome potential obstacles in creative ways.

Transwestern Development Company announced it has expanded its Southeast team with the addition of Jeff Harris. In his new role as Regional Partner, Harris is responsible for sourcing and executing development projects throughout the region with a primary focus on multifamily and mixed-use properties. Harris was previously Division President for the Carolinas at Lennar Multifamily Communities. Prior to joining Lennar, Harris served as Executive Vice President and Regional Investment Director for Post Properties’ East region.

Christopher Community, Inc. announced Andrea Wheeler as Regional Property Manager. Wheeler began her 15-year career in the property management field as a Leasing Consultant. Most recently, Wheeler owned and operated an in-home daycare for three years and has been a licensed real estate salesperson for two years. She is also currently a member of the Snowbelt Housing Board, which provides grants to struggling families in Lewis County, N.Y., to improve their home. Wheeler has an Associate's Degree in Business Management from Jefferson Community College. She is also certified as an Occupancy Specialist in fair housing and NYS Housing Code of Ethics.

The Calida Group announced Miranda Dean as a Vice President of Capital Markets. Dean brings over a decade of experience in the commercial real estate and fintech spaces, having specialized in debt origination, capital raising from both domestic and international investors, investor relations and business operations. Dean was most recently Investment Sale Broker with Archer Real Estate. In her previous roles, she oversaw debt originations and underwriting, as well as SMA Portfolio Management, at Nuveen Real Estate. 

 

Ron Ladell   •   Chair   •   Rutgers Center for Real Estate   •   Newark, N.J.

Morris Davis, the Paul V. Profeta Chair of Real Estate and the Academic Director of the Rutgers Center for Real Estate, announced that Ron Ladell is the next Chair of the Rutgers Center for Real Estate. Davis also recognized both Carl Goldberg and Jimmy Hanson and the Center’s two original Co-Chairs. Ladell has served on the Rutgers Center for Real Estate Executive Committee since the inception of the Center. He teaches Real Estate Law and Real Estate Development to students in the program. Ladell is also a Rutgers University Senator representing the Rutgers University Alumni Association. Ladell is the Senior Vice President of AvalonBay Communities overseeing all residential and mixed-use development activities throughout New Jersey for the last 20 years. Ladell serves on the New Jersey State Chamber Board of Directors, the New Jersey Apartment Association Board of Directors, appears regularly as a guest lecturer at academic institutions and trade conferences and has been recognized for his volunteer activities by various organizations.

Leonardo247 has promoted Heidi Rooney to Director of Enterprise Sales. Rooney, who has more than 16 years of experience in multifamily, joined Leonardo247 in 2018 as Regional Vice President of Sales for the Northeast. In her new role, Rooney will continue as the RVP for the Northeast region, while also overseeing international sales and expansion into new markets. She began her multifamily career at Sure Deposit.

Cortland has appointed Cass McFadden to the newly created role of Global Head of Sustainability. Reporting to Cortland’s President of Investment Management, Jason Kern, McFadden will be responsible for driving innovative strategies to achieve Cortland’s sustainability goals across the portfolio on behalf of residents, associates and investors. McFadden brings a wealth of industry knowledge to Cortland following stints as Vice President of Sustainability at Bozzuto and Director of Energy Management for AvalonBay. McFadden will be responsible for road-mapping the vision and targets for ESG programs, including optimizing energy, water and waste performance at the asset level.

FirstService Residential promoted Calynne Oyolokor to Senior Vice President of its Multifamily Rental Division in New York City. Oyolokor will be responsible for the continued growth of the division and apply her extensive operations, process improvement, financial and people management experience to lead the division’s management and advisory teams. Oyolokor has more than 15 years of expertise managing luxury residential properties, mixed-use developments, assets with affordable housing and income restricted components, and REITs in both asset management and property management.

Fogelman Properties appointed Will Drummond as Chief Financial Officer. Drummond brings more than 15 years of accounting and finance experience to his new role. He joins Fogelman’s executive team and will be responsible for the company’s corporate finances, investment and property accounting and corporate planning. Prior to joining Fogelman, Drummond was the Chief Financial Officer at Envolve Communities, LLC, where he also served as Chief Accounting Officer and Vice President of Financial Reporting and Investor Relations. Prior to Envolve Communities, Drummond was a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young. He also was a Financial Reporting Analyst for Education
Realty Trust, Inc.

WPM Real Estate Management has promoted Rebecca Smith to Brand Engagement Director. This newly created role recognizes Smith’s expanding responsibilities and contributions to the multifamily division. As the Brand Engagement Director, she will continue to add value to WPM’s lease-up strategy while also contributing to interactions with prospective and existing clients, prospective and existing residents, as well as the general public. Since 2020, Smith has served as Senior Leasing Manager for WPM’s multifamily division. She is a National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP) designee, a member of the Virginia Apartment Association’s NextGen Committee and a Board Member for Charles Street Development.

Bernstein Management Corporation welcomed Peter Larson as Senior Vice President of Residential Property Management. Larson will direct the operational strategy for BMC’s portfolio of over 5,000 multifamily units throughout the Washington, D.C., metro. Prior to joining Bernstein, Larson was with Horning Brothers, most recently serving as Vice President of Property Management, following 10 years working as a Regional Property Manager for firms including Greystar, Waterton Residential and Kettler.

Beacon Communities has hired Christopher Reed as President of Beacon Residential Management, Beacon’s property management company. Reed will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, operation and profitability of Beacon’s property management company and real estate portfolio. As part of this work, he will be focused on the enhancement of resident satisfaction, resident services and employee engagement consistent with the mission of the company.  Reed most recently served as Executive Vice President, Property Management at Mercy Housing Management Group. Reed previously held leadership roles at Equity Residential Trust, Lexford Residential Trust and Lexford Properties, Inc. He holds several industry certifications, including the accreditations of CPM, NAHP-e, CPO and SHCM.
