The new program provides Wilmar customers with benefits such as centralized invoicing and an expanded product selection.

It is time for your service technicians to change the light bulbs in a common area. Halfway through the job, they realize they are two bulbs short.

It is time to go to Home Depot.

Usually that means digging into petty cash and then having to document receipts. But The Home Depot and Wilmar have a better solution: The Home Depot’s ProPurchase program. The program – which launched earlier this year -- allows Wilmar customers to shop in store using their existing credit line at Home Depot® stores nationwide for last-minute and same-day needs. It also provides access to an expanded product selection, including lumber, drywall windows and even truck or tool rentals. Home Depot store promotions and coupons can also be used for program purchases.

Purchases made in-store at The Home Depot with the ProPurchase program card will appear on their Wilmar account invoice, which offers clear visibility to all transactions made in-store and with Wilmar. And an eReceipt for all store transactions, including returns, is automatically sent to a designated email address.

To control expenditures, participants can assign unique cards and spend limits to employees or locations. Customers can also link their ProPurchase account to an existing Home Depot Pro Xtra membership to receive all the benefits and rewards of both programs.

Since ProPurchase launched in June, Paula Drum, Vice President of ECommerce and Marketing for Interline Brands of which Wilmar is a division, says it has been a huge success.

“Our customers are telling us that their back office loves the way the program is administered,” Drum says.

These buyers have purchased many products under the ProPurchase program in 2017 and Drum says flooring, paint, lumber, water heaters and accessories, washers and dryers, lawn and garden supplies, outdoor power equipment and interior doors have been the most popular.

So, who will benefit from the ProPurchase program?

  • Customers who shop in retail stores - for convenience and for products they need right away, such as maintenance technicians purchasing lights.
  • Retail store customers who don’t have to use petty cash or worry about printed receipts.

Signing up for the ProPurchase program is easy. Wilmar customers with a credit line can sign up through their account representative or simply fill out a worksheet available online and then call or email ProPurchase Customer Service to set up their cards.

For new customers -- or those with no existing credit – signing up is also a breeze. A credit application is filled out to secure a line of credit and then specify that they want to be enrolled in the ProPurchase program. After filling out a worksheet, the ProPurchase team is engaged to setup the card.

The ProPurchase program can also be tied to an existing Home Depot Pro Xtra membership, which is an exclusive program for pros shopping in-store at The Home Depot. Customers will receive all their Pro Xtra benefits and rewards when they link their ProPurchase cards and use them in stores. This includes the National Apartment Association “Open Door” program which offers up to a 2% annual rebate on Home Depot store purchases

“A recent enhancement is that the ProPurchase program will work with Pro Xtra program,” Drum says. “If you have an NAA Open Door program through Pro Xtra and a Wilmar ProPurchase card, you can enter it and link those up together,” Drum says. “That way you can enjoy the benefits of both programs.”

Pro Xtra exclusive offers and rewards include up to a 20 percent discount on Behr paints, stains and primers. Volume discounts are also available, helping customers get the lowest price possible on orders of $1,500 or more, including windows, lumber, fencing and decking, drywall, insulation and more.

Adding a ProPurchase account to an existing Pro Xtra membership is not difficult. Customers can simply log into Pro Xtra online portal and add ProPurchase as form of payment. Or they can  bring their ProPurchase card to the PRO Desk at any Home Depot store for an associate to link the account. For National Apartment Association ‘Open Door’ participating accounts, enter the agreement code “HDNAA” in payment form screen on the Pro Xtra online portal.

Under the ProPurchase program, customers can walk into any store and use their ProPurchase account to receive everyday low pricing in stores, use store coupons and take advantage of promotional discounts.

Home Depot continues to work on ways to make the shopping experience easier for its pro customers, whether it is in store or through Wilmar.
