The NAA Government Affairs team has been busy strengthening relationships on Capitol Hill with lawmakers in both parties. To date, the NAA team has attended approximately 200 fundraising events. Notably:  

  • NAA Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Greg Brown recently attended an event for Rep. Jason Smith (R-Mo.-8), Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, where he was able to highlight the apartment industry’s legislative priorities and learn more about tax issues under consideration in the 118th Congress. 
  • NAA Director of Federal Legislative Affairs Maria Spencer attended events for Reps. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.-9) and Chuck Edwards (R-N.C.-11) and thanked both members for agreeing to cosponsor H.R. 802, Respect State Housing Laws Act. 
  • NAA Director of Federal Legislative Affairs Jodie Anderson joined an event for Rep. Sharice Davids (D-Kan.-3), where she praised the Congresswoman for agreeing to support H.R. 3507, Yes in My Backyard Act, as a cosponsor. 
  • NAA Director of Federal Legislative Affairs Jason Lynn attended an event honoring Rep. Garret Graves (R-La.-6), where he highlighted legislation important to the apartment industry and thanked the Congressman for his past support.
