Mark Yale      Chief Financial Officer     Coastal Ridge Real Estate      Columbus, Ohio 

Coastal Ridge Real Estate announced that Mark Yale has joined the firm as Chief Financial Officer. Yale was most recently an Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Washington Prime Group following the company’s January 2015 acquisition of Glimcher Realty Trust. Washington Prime Group was a publicly traded retail REIT that owned and managed a diverse portfolio of assets located throughout the United States. He was responsible for the company’s financial management and reporting and oversaw the accounting, finance, investor relations, treasury, tax and information services functions. Yale was Chief Financial Officer with Glimcher. He will work out of Coastal Ridge’s Columbus, Ohio, headquarters and will be responsible for guiding the overall financial performance of the company. 

Justin Babineaux     Associate General Counsel of Property Management      Beacon Communities     Boston 

Beacon Communities announced Justin Babineaux has joined the firm as Associate General Counsel of Property Management. Most recently, Babineaux served as Staff Attorney at Columbia Residential, where he managed and oversaw legal matters relating to fair housing and regulatory compliance. In his new role, he will serve as primary legal support for the property management team in all legal aspects of the ownership and management of affordable and mixed-income housing communities. Prior to his role as a Staff Attorney at Columbia Residential in Atlanta, Babineaux worked at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Atlanta, first as a legal intern in the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, and then as a Trial Attorney at the Office of Regional Counsel, in the Litigation Division. 

Jamie Weinbaum     CEO     Horning      Washington, D.C. 

Jamie Weinbaum has joined Horning as CEO to build on the success of the 60-year-old real estate company. Weinbaum is only the company’s third CEO, following the leadership of founder Joe Horning and more recently, David Roodberg, who announced last year that he was stepping down after a 20-year-tenure with the company. Weinbaum joins the company from Mid-City Development, where he led real estate development activities. He managed underwriting, entitlement, design, permitting, financing, construction and lease-up efforts. Prior to his time with Mid-City Development, Weinbaum served as Chief Operating Officer at Ditto Residential, where he oversaw all development and construction-related activities and led planning efforts related to targeted acquisitions, investment strategy and long-term strategic growth initiatives. 

Dave Bunting      Chief Executive Officer     Crown Harvest Hardware      Indianapolis

Crown Harvest Hardware has named Dave Bunting Chief Executive Officer. Bunting has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the multifamily management and sales industries. He will oversee the day-to-day management and operations of the company as well as lead business development efforts of the fast-growing company. Bunting was most recently with Four Pillars, where he built the start-up into one of the top performers in the space.

Benjamin J. Young     CIO, Managing Director     Buckingham      Indianapolis

Benjamin J. Young has joined Buckingham as CIO, Managing Director. Young will head Buckingham’s asset management and investment division as the company grows and leverages its successes in institutional capital raising, client engagement and investment performance. Young has been a prominent real estate private equity investor and asset manager for more than three decades. Most recently, he was a Managing Director at Blackrock in New York for nine years and a senior member of the $100 billion Real Assets Group. As Head of Blackrock’s U.S. Real Estate Private Equity business, he was responsible for the growth and management of $11 billion in investments ranging across core, value-add and opportunistic investments.

Holly McAllister     Vice President of Property Management      Dominium     Minneapolis 

Dominium has promoted Holly McAllister to Vice President of Property Management. In her new role, she will oversee Dominium’s lease-up efforts for new construction across the company. This consists of current new construction properties in eight states as well as future new construction properties that Dominium adds to its portfolio. McAllister joined Dominium as a Community Manager in August 2004, bringing 14 years of property management experience to the organization. She was quickly promoted to Area Manager and then Regional Manager. During her most recent role as Senior Regional Manager, she was responsible for overseeing Dominium properties in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. McAllister is a Certified Occupancy Specialist and Housing Credit Certified Professional.

Alicia Morgan      Vice President of Property Management     Horning      Washington, D.C. 

Alicia Morgan has joined Horning as Vice President of Property Management to oversee and lead the management of its portfolio of residential, retail and mixed-use communities throughout the Washington, D.C., metro. Morgan brings more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of property management including operations, lease-ups, development, acquisitions, sales and marketing supervision and training. Morgan joins Horning from PIRHL Development Company, where she was responsible for the management and performance of 9,000 units, lease-ups, asset management and operations performance. Prior to PIRHL, she was at Edgewood/Vantage Management where she was responsible for the management and performance of 6,000 units. 

Anthony Ranallo     Construction Director     Brook Farm Group      Atlanta 

Brook Farm Group announced it has hired Anthony Ranallo as Construction Director. Ranallo has 10 years of experience in construction project management, supervising multifamily, institutional and commercial projects spanning multiple states. Before joining Brook Farm Group, Ranallo managed the Atlanta Regional Office for Eastern Construction. He was responsible for developing a customer base and subcontractor pool for multifamily capital projects in Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and the Carolinas. He is licensed as a general contractor in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia. He also holds OSHA 30 and PMP certifications that allow for more specialized construction work. 

Olayinka Kuye-Romelus, CAM, SHCM   •   Director of Operations      The Peabody Companies      Braintree, Mass. 

The Peabody Companies announced Olayinka (Yinka) Kuye-Romelus of Brockton, Mass., as Director of Operations, with an assigned portfolio overseeing the Boston region. In this role, Kuye-Romelus provides leadership, guidance and development to her direct reports and assigned portfolio, actively managing her portfolio to allow for exceptional operations standards and new business growth. Kuye-Romelus most recently was Vice President of Product for Tour24.  She holds a master’s degree in political science from Northeastern University as well as designations of Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) from the National Apartment Association and as a Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO) and a Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM) from The National Affordable Housing Management Association. 

Jay Miller      Regional Property Manager     Christopher Community, Inc.     Syracuse, N.Y. 

Christopher Community, Inc. has promoted Jay Miller to Regional Property Manager. Miller began his career as a Leasing Consultant 10 years ago at a market-rate property in Orlando, Fla. After being promoted to Assistant Property Manager at that location, he later became Property Manager at luxury apartments in that market. Since 2013, he has managed several communities in South and Central Florida, as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands, and most recently in Syracuse, N.Y. He was recently hired as Property Manager of Christopher Community properties Camillus Heights and Harborbrook Apartments, before being promoted to this new position. 

Hines, Houston 

Steve Luthman     Chief Executive Officer, U.S. Midwest and Southeast and Canada 

Syl Apps     Chief Executive Officer, South America 

Hines announced that Steve Luthman has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Midwest and Southeast regions and Canada, and Syl Apps has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of the South America region. They are now responsible for all development, acquisition, asset management and operations activity in their respective regions. 

Since joining Hines in 2005, Luthman has contributed to the development, acquisition, financing, marketing and disposition of more than 33 million square feet of commercial real estate in the Midwest, Southeast and Canada. He led the capital formation for two Canada-specific discretionary investment vehicles comprising nearly CA$3 billion of investment capital and led the firm’s transformation task force responsible for concepting flagship discretionary fund formation. 

Apps joined Hines in 2015 and has been responsible for the origination, capitalization and execution of over CA$1.3 billion of projects in Canada. He has also served as an investment partner for the Hines Brazil team since 2018, overseeing equity capital formation. In addition to his new CEO position, Syl will continue to lead the firm’s investment business in Canada. 

Mychelle Johnston     Vice President, Client Services      Pay Ready     Huntington Beach, Calif. 

Pay Ready announced that industry veteran Mychelle Johnston has joined the organization as Vice President, Client Success. Johnston will direct the client success strategy and structure. With more than 20 years of multifamily expertise in data-driven conversations, Johnston joins Pay Ready from LeaseLock, where she was responsible for enterprise account management. As a strategic and visionary leader, Johnston has successfully created and implemented systems and process geared toward retention and acquisition of new units. 

Rob Lester      Head of Investment Management     CARROLL       Atlanta 

CARROLL has promoted Rob Lester, a member of the Firm’s Executive Leadership Team, to the role of Head of Investment Management. Lester joined CARROLL in 2022 to lead its capital markets function and brought more than 25 years of real estate, capital markets and investment experience to the firm. He will lead CARROLL’s investment, asset management, development, capital markets, and investor relations teams. Prior to joining CARROLL, Lester held executive and leadership positions with real estate and financial institutions including Blackstone/Park Hill Real Estate, Macquarie Capital and Brookfield. He began his career in corporate investment banking with BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank.

Chelsey Harper     Regional Vice President 

The Preiss Company announced several promotions in preparation for continued growth and enhancement of the company’s property management platform. The new promotions include Sara Clark, Executive Vice President of Property Management; Chloe Rasmussen, Vice President of Property Management; and Chelsey Harper, Regional Vice President. 

Clark joined TPCO in 2005 and has served in multiple roles with the company including Property Manager, Regional Manager and most recently as Vice President. She will be responsible for overall property management operations and will provide direct oversight over strategic assets and partnerships. 

Rasmussen will be responsible for the operational success of additional properties and regional managers within the TPCO portfolio, totaling over 10,000 beds. Having joined TPCO in 2006, Rasmussen has held multiple roles within the organization, including Property Manager and Regional Manager. Most recently, she was responsible for numerous markets throughout the portfolio including direct oversight of TPCO’s Raleigh and conventional multifamily portfolios. 

Since joining TPCO in 2011, Harper has served as Property Manager and Regional Manager in Southeastern markets such as Clemson, Statesboro and Greenville.  In her most recent role as Regional Manager, she was directly responsible for overseeing over a dozen assets within the company’s portfolio.  As Regional Vice President, she will have direct oversight over two Regional Managers as well as continued direct oversight of a small number of strategic assets. 

Woodmont Properties, Fairfield, N.J. 

Thomas Anderson      Senior Project Manager 

Ryan Doyle     Project Manager 

Woodmont Properties has welcomed Thomas Anderson as Senior Project Manager and Ryan Doyle as Project Manager. The two will oversee the construction of several of Woodmont’s multifamily developments including Woodmont Forge, its newest 300-unit luxury residential community in Hopewell, N.J. 

Anderson brings over 25 years of experience in the home-building industry to his role as Senior Project Manager. Throughout his career, he has held various managerial positions at different stages in the development lifecycle, spanning land development, construction, quality assurance and customer service. His wide-ranging experience and breadth of knowledge in residential construction are pivotal to his new role overseeing Woodmont’s residential community in Hopewell. 

Doyle spent the last seven years as a Residential Construction Manager, working on multifamily and single-family home projects. His involvement and team mentorship were instrumental in several initiatives including the construction of 14 model homes and nine communities spanning multiple municipalities. Before entering the homebuilding industry, he served five years in the United States Marine Corps active duty as a Helicopter Mechanic. He holds a degree from Penn State University.
