April Royal           Vice President of Property Management           Birchstone Residential          Coppell, Texas 

Birchstone Residential announced the addition of multifamily veteran April Royal as Vice President of Property Management. Royal will oversee regional and onsite operations across Birchstone’s portfolio of 14,000 apartment homes in Florida, Georgia, Texas and North Carolina. Royal brings more than 25 years of multifamily management experience to her new role. Prior to joining Birchstone, she was Vice President of Capstone Real Estate Services’ multifamily operation. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Apartment Association of Tarrant County and is on the path to become President of the association in 2026. 

David Nargang, CAPS          President, Property Managemen           Allied Orion Group          Houston 

Allied Orion Group has named David Nargang as President of the company’s property management division. In this role, Nargang will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a diverse property management portfolio comprised of more than 35,000 apartment homes across the nation. Prior to joining the firm, he served as President at McCormack Baron Management, where he oversaw the management of more than 23,000 multifamily units across 47 cities and 26 states. Throughout his career, he has held key senior positions at various organizations such as NRP Group, BH Management Services and Pinnacle Management. 

Sharon Karaffa          President, Multifamily Debt & Structured Finance           Newmark Group          New York 

Newmark Group, Inc., appointed Sharon Karaffa as President, Multifamily Debt & Structured Finance. Karaffa will lead Multifamily Capital Markets in partnership with Chad Lavender, President of North America Capital Markets, who will serve as interim Head of Multifamily Investment Sales. In her new role, Karaffa will focus on revenue growth, business development and client and lender relationships while also leading Newmark’s Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA lending platforms. Before joining Newmark in 2017, Karaffa was Director of Priority Borrower Relationships and Head of Structured Transactions for Fannie Mae Multifamily, where, during her governance, credit facilities experienced triple-digit growth. 

Ian Bingham           Senior Vice President of Business Development           Buckingham          Indianapolis 

Buckingham has named Ian Bingham as Senior Vice President of Business Development. In this new role, Bingham will lead Buckingham’s expansion into third-party multifamily management. Bingham brings over two decades of multifamily experience in market rate, student housing, build-to-rent and affordable housing. Prior to joining Buckingham, he served as the Senior Vice President of Business Development and Client Relations for several respected rental housing firms including RPM Living, Village Green Holdings and Middleburg Communities. 

John Giannuzzi          Vice President of Property Management           Christopher Community          Syracuse, N.Y. 

Christopher Community, Inc. has announced the appointment of John Giannuzzi as Vice President of Property Management. Giannuzzi will be responsible for overseeing Christopher Community’s property management, Housing Choice Voucher Program and the facilities department. His industry career spans over 30 years, initially working at Longley Jones Management Corp. He most recently was at Conifer Realty, maintaining positions as District Manager, Regional Vice President of Property Management and Senior Vice President of Property Management. While at Conifer, he oversaw 221 affordable assets in five states totaling over 15,000 units. 

Kevin Smith           Division Manager, Carolinas          Swinerton           Charlotte, N.C. 

Swinerton promoted Kevin Smith to Division Manager of its Carolinas division. With over two decades of experience in the construction industry, Smith’s promotion reflects Swinerton’s commitment to sustained growth in the Carolinas and developing leaders from within. Most recently Operations Manager for the Carolinas division, Smith joined Swinerton in 2010. In his new role, Smith will lead the development of Swinerton’s operations in the Carolinas, focusing on strategic projects in mass timber, multifamily, hospitality, education and commercial interiors. 

Drew Harbrecht          Senior Vice President          Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer          Richmond, Va. 

Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer announced that Drew Harbrecht has joined Thalhimer as Senior Vice President and will lead Thalhimer Multifamily, Thalhimer’s residential property services division. Harbrecht has more than 17 years of management experience, and most recently served as a Director for Greystar, where he led a management portfolio of nearly 10,000 units in central Virginia and the DMV corridor. 

Brad Dillman          Chief Economist          RPM Living           Austin, Texas 

RPM Living has hired Chief Economist Brad Dillman to enhance its forecasting capabilities. Prior to joining RPM, Dillman was an economist and data scientist building housing forecast models for well-known national homebuilders and other multifamily property management companies. He has a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and holds the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) professional designations. Dillman has authored numerous works on the economy and housing and is regularly tapped for his insights as a media commentator on national outlets including CNBC, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, New York Times and Yahoo Finance. 

Teresa Holmes          Vice President of Operations           The Bainbridge Companies          Wellington, Fla. 

The Bainbridge Companies announced that Teresa Holmes has joined the company as Vice President of Operations. Holmes will oversee the daily operations of a diverse portfolio throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. With 23 years of experience, Holmes has overseen a wide range of assets across the Southeast region. Most recently, she served as Associate Vice President of Avenue5 Residential, and prior to that, she was Area Vice President of Haven Residential. 

Jeff Lautenbach          Chief Revenue Officer          Rent.           Atlanta 

Rent. announced the appointment of Jeff Lautenbach as the company’s new Chief Revenue Officer. As the new Chief Revenue Officer, he will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Rent. global revenue operations, formulating revenue growth strategies, fostering key partnerships, and further expanding the company’s customer base. Prior to joining Rent., Lautenbach served as President of Global Field Operations at Cornerstone OnDemand. Prior to his tenure at Cornerstone OnDemand, he held the position of President of Worldwide Field Operations at Jive.
