Partnering with Your Community to End Veteran Homelessness
Affordable Housing

Since 2010, veteran homelessness has declined 47 percent. Increasingly, the primary obstacle to local efforts is access to housing. It’s critical to identify property owners and managers willing to work with homeless veterans using housing subsidies and the support of community stakeholders. Local apartment associations are developing innovative approaches alongside stakeholders working to end veteran homelessness. Hear specific examples from cities such as Austin, Texas, and Colorado Springs, Colorado, as well as national partners from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the National League of Cities. (THU-A06)

Affordable Housing

Valuable team members can easily be lost to burn out and, too often, customer care and leasing skills taking a back seat to re-certifications, inspections and audits.
