NAA is pleased to announce that Jerry Wilkinson, CAPS, CCIM, Chairman of the Board of Wilkinson Real Estate Advisors in Atlanta, was inducted into the NAA Hall of Fame in June at the 2015 NAA Education Conference & Exposition.
Induction into the NAA Hall of Fame represents the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an apartment professional. Wilkinson is the 18th person inducted during the 76-year history of NAA.
Wilkinson, 2012 NAA Chairman of the Board, has been a real estate professional for more than 40 years, during which time he has been actively involved in developing, owning and managing apartment communities.
He has served in leadership roles in many professional associations, including President of the Georgia Apartment Association and the Atlanta Apartment Association, in addition to serving as Chair of NAA's Legislative and Budget & Finance committees. During Wilkinson's tenure as Chairman of the 2009 Budget & Finance Committee, NAA had the biggest surplus in its history.
Described by colleagues as composed, genuine and uncompromising in his morals, Wilkinson has served NAA with distinction and guided the organization through several challenges with grace and determination. He remains active in NAA, currently serving as a delegate, as well as a member of the 2015 NAAEI Budget & Finance Committee and Global Outreach Committee. Wilkinson writes for national publications and serves as a guest lecturer and mentor to many industry professionals.
Wilkinson also serves on the Board of Directors for St. Joseph's Hospital and the Duke University School of Engineering. He is active in his community, and has been a longtime supporter of the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
"When [2015 NAA Chairman of the Board] Tom Beaton told me I was elected to the NAA Hall of Fame, I was overwhelmed with emotions," Wilkinson says. "To be selected by your peers is simply amazing. I am humbled and honored. Those industry giants who have gone before me paved the way and I stand on their shoulders. This wonderful industry is all about relationships and I cherish all of them. I am thankful for this honor." -L.B.
