Have you ever shopped for something on Amazon or a big box retailer site and then visited the website of something completely unrelated and saw an ad for the item you had looked at?

While this practice, known as remarketing, might have creeped you out, Justin Cleary says it is effective and something that apartment operators should think about doing.

“If you are looking for a way to convert more of your website traffic, raise your brand awareness and acquire more residents, remarketing is an inexpensive and highly effective option,” he writes for MultifamilyInsiders.

Remarketing can help fix the apartment industry’s nagging issues of brand awareness and website conversions by putting your ads on more sites that your potential residents see.

“By increasing your brand awareness, you can keep your community at the forefront of renters’ minds throughout the decision making period,” Cleary writes.

These inexpensive ads, which only target visitors to your site, can also lead to a higher conversion.

“Instead of having leads leave your site without any contact, remarketing entices renters to contact your community, which leads to substantial increases in percentage conversion,” Cleary says.
