  1. LOTS and LOTS of pictures. Find a nanny or daycare that will send you pictures. It helps to ease you through the transition of not seeing your baby all day. And who doesn’t love a baby picture?!
  2. Be a Morning Person. Actually, you’ll discover all sorts of new hours of the day.
  3. Big Purses are Your Friends. Often referred to as the “Mom Bag,” it ensures that you are prepared for baby, the office and everything in between.
  4. Google is All You’ll Need. You’ll have questions about everything new your baby will do. And your memory/reasoning will be gone (Thanks, no sleep), so Google comes in handy when trying to remember the name of the store with the red target… you know, also known as Target.
  5. Working From Home. Thankfully, newborns don’t move around a lot and like to be snuggled, so skip the commute, grab your laptop and get more precious hours with your little one, whenever possible.
  6. Quick Weekend Getaways. These no longer will be relaxing. They now require packing more gear than needed for a hiking expedition. But, the exhaustion and effort is totally worth it.
  7. Order Everything Online. No longer will you have time to shop in a store. And frankly, once you’ve put the baby carrier in the shopping cart, there isn’t any room for the things you want to buy anyway.
  8. Mom Guilt. It’s real and it sucks. There will be times when you have to work and will have to be away from your kiddos. But find comfort in the notion that you are teaching them the importance of hard work.
  9. Work is Adult Time. It’s Refreshing. You can stop singing Baby Shark on repeat – your coworkers will appreciate it too.
  10. Have Patience with Yourself. Working full time is difficult. Being a new parent is hard. And everyone’s trying their best to figure it out – I’m sure we are all doing a great job.
