If you are investing in digital advertising to reach potential residents, you probably already know about the dominance of Facebook and Google. A recent report from eMarketer finds that these two digital ad giants aren’t ceding their positions anytime soon.
In 2017, Google and Facebook will control 57 percent of all mobile advertising; by 2019, eMarketer predicts they will control 60 percent.
Google dominates the search ad space, with a 77.8 percent market share, while Facebook is exerting increasing control over the display space. This year, Facebook will have 39 percent of the U.S. display market, and eMarketer predicts the social media company will increase its market share to 43.7 percent by 2019.
Facebook-owned Instagram is helping Facebook increase its market share in the display market, while Google is losing ground in this area.
Snapchat is not yet primed to take on either behemoth; eMarketer predicts the company will account for 1.3 percent of the mobile ad market in 2017 and 2.7 percent in 2019.
