These Amenities Are More Important to Residents Than In-Unit Laundry
Digested from Comcast press release
Apartment owners, managers and developers ranked Wi-Fi access and high-speed internet as the top two amenities their residents want, beating out in-unit washer and dryer, according to a new survey from Comcast’s XFINITY Communities.
Eighty-seven percent of survey respondents said that technology plays either an extremely or very important role in keeping residents satisfied. Three-quarters of respondents said that the majority of prospective residents ask about the internet, phone and TV services available at the apartment community before deciding to live there.
The survey also found:
- Just over one-third (34 percent) of respondents ranked Wi-Fi access as the most important amenity, followed by high-speed internet (25 percent) and in-room laundry facilities (13 percent).
- Thirty percent of respondents believed quality communications services boosts property values by at least 20 percent.
- Seventy-eight percent said that technology is extremely or very important in residents’ decision to renew their lease.
