SF Apartment Community Floats Like a Butterfly

Butterfly Habitat

Appealing to nature lovers, one apartment community now under construction in San Francisco intends to offer butterflies a protected space in one of the most desirable neighborhoods.  The 81-unit 38 Dolores apartment community is already touting a protected butterfly habitat as "a living representation of the sustainable lifecycle" at the core of its philosophy.  Protected butterfly species will reportedly range from the San Bruno Elfin to the Bay Checkerspot to the Mission Blue.

Other green amenities include a rooftop herb garden, an on-site car share program, living walls, rainwater harvesting, and solar heating systems.  One-bedroom apartments are expected to range in price from $2,950 to $4,595. For such an eye-popping price, residents will receive the aforementioned amenities, as well as easy access to some of the city's most popular destinations.
