I love sharing how I got my RPM career to show potential candidates that it's easy to transition from other jobs to this industry.
Heres how it started: My best friend and I were looking for our first apartment, and she asked the leasing consultant about jobs in RPM. Soon after, she became a leasing consultant, and she loved it! That convinced me to make the switch from retail and restaurant work to RPM.
Having experience in these fast-paced environments set me up to excel in my new position. I soon became an assistant manager, and not long after was promoted to property manager. Now I am a director of sales for a property management staffing company. I recruit and train leasing consultants, property and assistant managers, and maintenance personnel. My experience proves that you can make any RPM career your own!
As a long-standing member of NAA and its affiliates, I have found great satisfaction in the training and support that is available in this industry. Many companies will pay for their employees to attend classes and other learning opportunities to help them advance in their career. Check out NAAEI's credential programs.
