Chicagoland Apartment Association EVP Michael Mini Named 2020 NAA AEC President
ARLINGTON, VA | Feb. 5, 2020 – Chicagoland Apartment Association Executive Vice President Michael Mini has begun his term as the National Apartment Association’s (NAA) 2020 Association Executives Council (AEC) President.
Mini has led the Chicagoland Apartment Association (CAA) since 2014. CAA represents more than 200 property owners/managers, 4,000 rental housing industry professionals, 1,300 apartment communities and 220,000 units.
“Chicagoland is a great affiliate for us,” NAA President and CEO Robert Pinnegar, CAE, said. “Mike does his best to represent his members and industry well in Illinois. He has been a great asset to our network, and his visibility as a positive example of an industry leader will only grow as he takes on this role of leading our Affiliates Executive Council.”
He has worked with the CAA board of directors to organize the SHAPE Illinois (Support Housing Affordability, Progress and Equality) advocacy campaign to develop policies to address the challenge of affordable housing and combat efforts to enact rent control in Illinois.
Mini also works with elected officials, government agencies, civic organizations and the media to promote the rental housing industry. Prior to joining CAA, he was the Vice President of Public Policy at the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as the Managing Director of the Realtors Commercial Alliance of the National Association of Realtors, the Chicago Association of Realtors Government Affairs Director and a Legislative Analyst for the Institute of Real Estate Management.
