Studies show that strategic landscaping in apartment communities can help renters feel happier, serving as a passive retention strategy.
A study from the University of Washington found that people who live in neighborhoods with accessible green spaces are more socially active in them and therefore feel a better sense of community. The study also found that people feel greater loyalty to a space with greenery because they've forged a connection with their physical environment.
Green spaces have also been linked to increased productivity and focus among students and to decreased depression and loneliness among seniors.
