The push for smoke-free apartment living continues in much of the country. A year ago, units Magazine informally surveyed members about whether they had distinct policies in place for electronic cigarettes. Only a few responded and offered basic, non-specific language similar to tobacco cigarette use. None had mentioned hearing complaints about neighbors “vaping up.”
A nationwide survey of 20,000 high school students published in April showed that e-cigarette use tripled and hookah use doubled among U.S. teenagers in 2014, even as fewer of them light up traditional cigarettes.
And for the first time, more high-schoolers puffed e-cigarettes last year (13.4 percent) than regular smokes (9.2).
