NAA offers a variety of educational formats to ensure there's something for everyone. Below are descriptions of what was offered at APTvirtual.

Breakout Sessions

Attendees experienced virtual breakout sessions spanning a multitude of topics to include Operations, Marketing, Maintenance, Leasing, Leadership, Executive and more. These sessions featured industry experts and provided useful information that attendees can apply to daily work life.These 40-minute sessions were designed specifically for our virtual event, with ample time for you to join the conversation via text chat and live video Q&A.

  • Wellness SessionsWe will offer five 10-minute sessions to help you recharge your bio-battery and learn the best energy management strategies to help keep you running.  Labs will include energy building routines, led by executive wellness coaches, to incorporate into your busy life.


NEW! Emerging Issues Sessions

Newly added were two sessions on the topic of legislative updates. Attendees heard how NAA's Greg Brown, SVP of Government Affairs, and Nicole Upano, Director of Public Policy and others, expected a new political dynamics in Washington to affect housing policy and the rental housing industry.

Are you tired of hearing about politics yet? We hope not! It's important to our industry, as this year has illustrated. This post-election forecast will break don how the new political landscape in Washington will affect national housing policy. The dynamic is changing, with implications for the rental housing industry, which will certainly impact housing policy at all levels of government.

On Getting Up Again

Rodney Mullen | Legendary Skateboarding Inventor and Pioneer

If you Google “Godfather of Modern Skateboarding,” Rodney Mullen pops up for having been the most dominant world champion in its history and creating most of its modern tricks. He also studied chemical engineering until a friend borrowed money from a loan shark; using it, they started a skate company which became the largest of its era, earning him two patents along the way. After its sale, Rodney turned to Linux, finding parallels between skate and hacker cultures that foster innovation. After his very first TED talk on this subject, industry leaders such as Apple, Nike, IBM, and Wired invited him to speak—even Anna Wintour. Rodney has appeared in 10 video games, acclaimed documentaries and in multiple books.
