NAA Hires Margaret Edgell Core, CAE As Assistant Vice President of Strategic Sales Initiatives

Association Sales and Marketing Expert to Build on NAA's Strategic Partnership Success

ARLINGTON, Va., April 27, 2012 –The National Apartment Association (NAA), America’s leading advocate for quality rental housing, has hired Margaret Edgell Core, CAE, as its Assistant Vice President of Strategic Sales Initiatives.

In this capacity, Core will be charged with strengthening strategic supplier relationships and forging new partnerships in the multifamily housing community through conference sponsorship and exhibiting opportunities, as well as managing advertising sales for NAA’s monthly magazine, units.

She will begin her position the week of the 2012 NAA Education Conference & Exposition in Boston, June 28-30, the largest event in the multifamily housing industry.

Core’s extensive experience in association sales, marketing, special event sponsorships and strategic relationships will aid NAA in continuing to craft winning partnerships that deliver sustained value for the association and its supplier partners.

Most recently, Core served as Managing Director of Sales and Marketing for the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), where she led sales and marketing efforts for the BIO International Convention. The event has more than 15,000 attendees from 65 countries and a trade show larger than four football fields. The BIO Convention was named by TradeShow Week as the Fastest Growing Show owned by an association in 2009, and was a 2011 TradeShow News Network Event Excellence Awards recipient for Best Marketing and Social Media Campaign.

Prior to BIO, Core was Vice President for Marketing and Member Communications for the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging as well as Vice President of Marketing and Organizational Development for the Consumer Electronics Association. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and Masters of Association Management from George Washington University, and holds her Certified Association Executive designation from the American Society of Association Executives.
