The Time to Innovate Is Now
The time is definitely now for the apartment industry to innovate. One area the sector can improve on is amenities. With so many communities out there for prospective residents to choose from, too often the same amenities are being offered over and over again. The questions to ask are: "What new amenities could really make residents' lives better and easier?" and "What new and exciting amenity could make them really excited to live here as opposed to elsewhere?" Jamie Gorski, Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing for The Bozzuto Group, recently sat down with Marketing Buzz to discuss how multifamily can emerge as a source of new and cutting-edge ideas and industry practices.

However, more new apartment business centers are being designed as bright and comfortable workspaces for multitasking — working online, meeting with business associates, and so forth. Some are even becoming social centers where residents gather to network or socialize.

Appealing to nature lovers, one apartment community now under construction in San Francisco intends to offer butterflies a protected space. The 81-unit 38 Dolores apartment community is already touting a protected butterfly habitat as "a living representation of the sustainable lifecycle" at the core of its philosophy.
