I’m a bit of a local celebrity. As you may recall from previous blogs, I’ve had some air time on what we in the biz like to call the “small screen.” That’s television for the layfolk.
My screen credits include a starring role in a recycling commercial that ran on Nickelodeon in the spring of 1997. I’m not saying I was a big deal, but people saw me while they were eating breakfast in the morning. In other words, I was part of the most important meal of their day.
I also spent five glorious minutes being interviewed on a local morning news program when I was 13 and part of an all-kids newspaper staff. For some odd reason I’m not on IMDB, so you’ll just have to take my word for it.
Fortunately, I won’t be the only one at NAA with some TV cred.
Coming to a television near you, Feb. 20th’s episode of Designing Spaces™ airing on Lifetime Television will feature NAA President and CEO Doug Culkin, CAE, touring Hills Properties’ Palmera Apartments—NAA’s 2013 PARAGON Community of the Year—and discussing the rise in rental housing.
Culkin will be joined by Jordanna Paciorek, CPM, Asset Manager for Edward Rose & Sons, who will offer insight into the luxury amenities that many residents enjoy at high-end communities such as Mason, Ohio’s Palmera Apartments.
The segment will also feature a property tour led by Tessa Braun, Property Manager for Palmera Apartments, showcasing Palmera’s most desired amenities and floor plans.
During their screen time, Culkin, Paciorek and Braun will help viewers learn how to find the right apartment community that fits their family and desired lifestyle.
“Just as Designing Spaces has been a leader for the past decade in helping Americans adapt their homes to their needs and comforts, the National Apartment Association has been the voice for quality rental housing for the past 75 years,” Culkin says. “In a new era when more and more people are choosing to rent, we are proud to partner with Designing Spaces to showcase the many options available for those who desire the freedom, flexibility and convenience of the rental lifestyle.”
This episode of Designing Spaces will air at 7:30 a.m. ET/PT on Feb. 20 and re-air on March 7 at the same time. Program your DVRs now!
And when you’re finished with that, please spread the word that I should be a member of SAG.
Lauren Boston is NAA’s Staff Writer and Manager of Public Relations. Unsurprisingly, she writes a lot—most often for units Magazine and as a weekly blogger for APTly Spoken. She enjoys making people laugh, sharing embarrassing childhood stories and being the (self-proclaimed) Voice of the Apartment Industry. She welcomes feedback, unless it’s negative (in which case, please keep it to yourself).
