There are five ways apartment owners and managers can begin using Instagram to engage with current and future residents and improve resident retention. They range from showcasing the property with high-quality photographs of the most popular and attractive amenities to touting your resident referral program by sharing pics of residents who recently referred a friend and earned a bonus. Another tip is to host a monthly Instagram photo contest in which a favorite pic is selected and re-posted on the community's Instagram account. The winner is given photo credit and a gift card.
How to Keep Email From Taking Over Your Life
There are several strategies for minimizing an overwhelming inbox and maximizing productivity. They include everything from turning off notifications so as not to distract from the tasks at hand to choosing when to check in. For maximum productivity, it is recommended that checks be limited to just three times a day: first thing in the morning, after lunch, and near the end of the day. Another suggestion is to not make email your default method of communication. Email should be for the communication of facts, not feelings.
A Lean, Clean Machine
Doing the laundry just got a little "smarter" thanks to an Internet-connected washing machine developed by Berg, a design and technology development based in London. The new machine features a streamlined user interface, and wash options are reduced to just a few frequently used presets. Another knob allows users to schedule loads by ending time rather than starting time. Dubbed Cloudwash, the machine communicates seamlessly with a smartphone app. Perhaps the best feature is a button that, when pressed, kills notifications completely for that session. It's one of Cloudwash’s smartest touches—a button that temporarily turns it back into a dumb washing machine.
