To help improve social media brand postings on Facebook, following are a few tips and trends, according to buddymedia.com:
• Don’t exceed 40 words on Facebook. Short posts are most likely to generate fan engagement. Posts that are fewer than 40 characters receive 86 percent higher rates of engagement, but 95 percent of retail brand posts exceed 40 characters.
• Dollars-off trumps percent discounts. Coupons and offers are effective at
generating engagement, but keep the math simple. “Dollar-off” posts generate 55 percent more engagement than regular posts and 17 percent more engagement than posts that highlight percentage discounts.
• Make “brand” posts during evenings, weekends, Wednesdays. Most Facebook activity from brands (89 percent) occurs between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. (EST), but fans are 20 percent more likely to engage with posts made between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m.
• Additionally, a report from danzarrella.com shows that, according to a HubSpot study of 200,000 bit.ly-link-containing tweets, click-through-rates are highest for links that are posted near the beginning of posts, or more specifically, approximately one-fourth of the way into the tweet.
