 NAA Members Convene at Assembly of Delegates in Atlanta 

  

 AOD Recap

In a celebration of accomplishment and recognition of leadership, NAA held its
annual Assembly of Delegates (AOD) in November in Atlanta.

The event at the InterContinental Buckhead in Atlanta gave members a chance to
welcome 2012 NAA Chairman of the Board, Jerry Wilkinson, CAPS, CCIM, as well as to acknowledge 2011 NAA Chairman of the Board Michael E. Gorman, CAPS, CPM, CCIM, Indianapolis.

The culmination of the four-day event was the installation of Wilkinson, CAPS, CCIM, Chairman of the Board, The Wilkinson Group, based in Atlanta; the 2012 NAA Officers; NAA Education Institute Officers; AEC and NSC Officers and all NAA Regional Vice Presidents. NAA Past Chairman of the Board Rob Johnston, CAPS, CPM, First Communities, Atlanta, was the Installing Officer.

The guest speaker for the Leadership Luncheon held during the AOD was U.S. Rep. Tom Price (GA-6), who spoke on key national and local legislative issues and the state of Congressional relations ongoing at Capitol Hill, such as discussions about the deficit, taxes and the upcoming election cycle. In Congress, Rep. Price has proven to be a vibrant leader, tireless problem solver and the go-to Republican on quality health care policy. He serves on the House Ways and Means and the Budget Committees.

NAA also recognized its Lyceum graduates—members who participated in a year’s worth of leadership education events held in conjunction with NAA meetings.

Additionally, Marysa Raymond, Regional Manager, Riverstone Residential, Daniel Island, S.C., received the third annual Megan McCadden Leadership Lyceum Scholarship from Lyceum Chairman Kellie Jackson, CAM, CPM, Vice President of Operations, East Region, Milestone Management, Jacksonville, Fla., and Gorman.

The AOD was preceded by the two-day Association Executive (AE) Developing Excellence Conference. Association management consultant Mary Byers, CAE, was the guest speaker. Byers offered strategy for chief staff executives and volunteer leaders on how to meet and overcome challenges facing associations today.
