FY2012 HUD Budget Enacted By Congress

On Nov. 17, Congress approved HUD’s funding for FY 2012, which runs through Sept. 30, 2012. Overall funding for the department is set at $37.3 billion, a nearly $4 billion reduction from FY 2012. Funding for the Section 8 voucher program, remains at approximately the same level last year and is expected to be sufficient to renew existing vouchers. This is a significant victory in light of the overall cuts HUD sustained.
