 NAA Announces 2011 PARAGON Award Winners

NAA IS PLEASED TO announce the 2011 PARAGON award winners. The annual awards program recognizes the multifamily housing industry’s top communities, employees and affiliate programs.

The awards will be presented during the 2011 NAA Education Conference & Exposition, June 23-25, in Las Vegas. The NAA PARAGON Awards recognition also will include the announcement of the NAA Community of the Year during the Opening General Session on June 23. The winner will be chosen among the communities that won category-specific PARAGON Awards listed below.

NAA Individual Awards

Greater Lexington Apartment Association Executive Brenda J. Wells, CAM, was named Association Executive of the Year. Hardin Properties Owner Craig Hardin, Lexington, Ky., was named Independent Rental Owner (IRO) of the Year (100 units or less). Integrity Asset Management LLC Owner Ira M. Gross, Houston, was named Independent Rental Owner of the Year (101-500 units). Pete Regules, CORT, Winter Park, Fla., received the National Suppliers Council (NSC) Achievement Award.

NAAEI Individual Awards

Melanie Bailey, CAM, CAPS, of Integrity Asset Management LLC, El Paso, Texas, was named Professional Designate of the Year. Bonnie Kaplan, CAM, of AMLI Residential Properties, Wheaton, Ill., was named Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) of the Year. Andrew Lund, NALP, of WinnResidential, Broad Brook, Conn., was named National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP) of the Year. Francisco Camacho, CAMT, of WinnResidential, Burlington, Mass., was named Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT) of the Year.

Builders, Owners and Developers Awards

Best Community, Less than 5 Years (under 150 units) was awarded to School House at Lower Mills, Dorchester, Mass., The Dolben Company.

Best Community, Less than 5 Years (over 150 units) was awarded to 1600 Vine at Hollywood & Vine, Hollywood, Calif., Legacy Partners Residential Inc.

Best Community, 5-20 Years (under 150 units) was awarded to Cordis Mills Apartments, Millbury, Mass., The Dolben Company.

 Best Community, 5-20 Years (over 150 units) was awarded to The Hamptons at Tampa Palms, Tampa, Fla., Continental Group Realty.

Best Community, 20+ Years (under 150 units) was awarded to The Ambassador, Indianapolis, Buckingham Management LLC.

Best Community, 20+ Years (over 150 units) was awarded to Vista Shadow Mountain, Tulsa, Okla., DEI Communities.

Best Community, Green Housing was awarded to Midtown Crossing at Turner Park, Omaha, Neb., The Lund Company.

Best Community, Specialty Housing—Affordable Housing was awarded to The Globe, Grand Rapids, Mich., Buckingham Management.

NAA Affiliate Awards

 Following are the associations that received affiliate awards: Piedmont Triad Apartment Association, Communications Award; Apartment Association of Greater Dallas and the Piedmont Triad Apartment Association, Community Service Award; Apartment Association of Metro Denver, Education Award; Houston Apartment Association, Government Affairs Award; and New Jersey Apartment Association, Membership Development Award.
