Capitol Hill veteran Cindy Chetti is NMHC’s new Senior Vice President of Government Affairs.
She is responsible for developing and implementing strategy for all legislative and regulatory issues of interest to the NAA/NMHC Joint Legislative Program.
Chetti brings more than 20 years’ experience in the U.S. House of Representatives to the position, most recently as the lead housing policy expert for the House Financial Services Committee, where she served for 10 years as a member of the Senior Professional Staff for the Committee’s Republicans.
Prior to that, she served six years in similar capacity for the Committee’s Financial Services and Consumer Credit subcommittee.
Chetti takes over from Jim Arbury, who stepped down to focus on the Council’s student housing initiative. He will also remain a vital ambassador to Capitol Hill.
