 Green Building Standard Input Sought

 Political Insider

Work has begun on the 2012 edition of the National Green Building Standard (NGBS) (ICC 700-2008). The NGBS, which is the only green building standard developed with input from the apartment industry, offers local jurisdictions considering green mandates and incentives an alternative to non-standardized green rating systems such as LEED.

NAA/NMHC members are encouraged to submit suggestions to improve the NGBS to NAA/NMHC or directly to the standard committee by Jan. 31. To learn about applying for the committee or submitting a proposed change, visit
http://bit.ly/NGBSUpdate. Contact NAA/NMHC’s Vice President of Building Codes, Ron Nickson, at 202/974-2327 or rnickson@nmhc.org for information.
