Flood/Catastrophe Insurance Passes Key House Committee

Legislation (HR 5114) to reform and reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) passed a key House committee on April 27. The NFIP expired in September 2009. Unable to agree on comprehensive reform, Congress has passed several short-term extensions, the most recent of which was set to expire at the end of May.
