ARLINGTON, Va., Mar. 19, 2013 -The Multifamily NW, formerly named the Metro Multifamily Housing Association recently voted unanimously to join the National Apartment Association (NAA) as an affiliated apartment association. Its charter was approved March 12 during NAA’s Board meeting in Washington, D.C.
Multifamily NW, based in Tigard, Ore., near Portland, comprises more than 850 members and 118,000 units. It serves multifamily communities, independent rental owners and suppliers in the state of Oregon.
The addition of Multifamily NW gives NAA 10 local/state affiliated apartment associations based on the West Coast. These affiliates represent nearly 21,000 members and over 620,000 units.
“Now that we have rejoined the ranks of NAA, Multifamily NW can offer our members access to more education, networking, and advocacy resources,” says Multifamily NW President Paul Hoevet. “Our affiliation with the NAA increases the value that our organization brings its members.”
Multifamily NW’s Association Executive Deborah Imse says, “Returning to the National Apartment Association gives our members important access to education, legislative efforts and networking opportunities that they must have for their businesses to compete successfully in the fast paced, ever changing world of multifamily. As an association,n it provides a critical connection for strengthening our position as a regional organization.”
Multifamily NW’s affiliation raises NAA’s national membership to 170 affiliated apartment associations representing more than 60,000 members and 6.7 million units.
