ARLINGTON, Va. / June 20, 2014 – Joseph Westlake, President, SightPlan, Orlando, Fla., was named the winner of the NAA Innovation Tank during the 2014 NAA Education Conference & Exposition in Denver.
Westlake was one of three finalists who pitched their product or business ideas to ABC hit TV show “Shark Tank” veterans Barbara Corcoran and Kevin Harrington during the General Session. His winning idea—a project management tool for property managers—earned Westlake the $5,000 Grand Prize.
The runners-up were Tim Haddon, Director of Ancillary Services, Associated Estates Realty Corporation, Richmond Heights, Ohio, for his Treadal (a bike treadmill) pitch; and Peter Thorpe, CEO, Fire Avert, LLC, for his auto safety stove shutoff. Haddon and Thorpe each received a $750 Apple gift card.
