NAAEI and DECA

NAAEI is one of DECA’s most important business partners and has served on the DECA National Advisory Board since 2008.

Together, NAAEI and DECA have worked to:

  • Develop the next generation’s workforce in the apartment industry by showcasing the dynamic careers the industry has to offer high school and collegiate DECA students.
  • Promote the partnership to both NAAEI and DECA members as a dynamic tool to create learning opportunities that support classroom teaching and student achievement, while grooming career-minded candidates for entry and advancement in the apartment industry.
  • Enhance DECA’s model, which consists of classroom learning, competitions to demonstrate skills and real-world activities and community projects, with apartment industry specific resources and community connections.

NAAEI sponsors activities annually at the DECA Collegiate Conference, providing college students and faculty advisors with the opportunity to learn about exciting careers in the apartment industry.  NAAEI also exhibits at high school and college DECA Career Fairs with more than 16,000 students, advisors and parents in attendance.
