Be an Advocate: Congressional Recess Program

Apartment Industry Advocate’s Checklist:

  • Meet with my members of Congress when they're home during a recess!

The Congressional Recess Program is your opportunity to meet with your members of Congress when they’re home so they can hear and see firsthand how their actions on Capitol Hill impact apartment owners and managers and the communities these elected officials serve.

You don’t need to be an expert on any of the apartment industry's issues. You are Congress’s best resource on how these issues will impact your business. Congress needs the apartment industry’s expertise and point of view. By sharing that, you become a relied-upon source for future industry issues and Congress becomes more knowledgeable on the impact of legislation on our members’ livelihoods.

Please email details on any meetings to Katelin McCrory. Also, please take photos of your group with your Representative or Senator so we can share and promote your meetings with all NAA members.

Thank you for supporting NAA’s advocacy efforts to protect the future of our members’ businesses!
