Bio
Scot Haislip is NAA’s Senior Director of Government Affairs. In this capacity he manages all aspects of the association’s state and local government affairs program including research, advocacy, and affiliate/member support.
In his work for NAA Scot has developed expertise in multiple legislative and regulatory issues affecting the multifamily housing industry, including landlord-tenant, bed bugs, green building, and property operations. Scot has written and published articles covering the economic impacts of legislation on the apartment industry, fair housing law, and green building regulation, amongst other subjects.
Before joining NAA in 2007, Scot served in Legal and Regulatory Affairs for the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association, where he managed regulatory oversight programs.
Scot holds a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Economics from The Ohio State University and a Juris Doctorate from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. His legal studies included concentrations in business and land use/zoning law. Scot is also a member of the Maryland State Bar.
