The NAA Better Government Fund is organized to provide support for national political parties, ballot initiatives, statewide candidates (who can accept corporate contributions) and administrative expenses of the NAAPAC. The success of our organization on Capitol Hill and in the states depends entirely on the participation of interested apartment owners, managers, developers, and suppliers, who understand the need to be involved in the political process.
The goal is to raise funds to assist state affiliates, associations and individuals in fighting anti-business lawsuits, ballot initiatives, referendums, legislative proposals, and other mandates. Additionally, these funds can be used in support of state and local outreach, political or legislative.
If your company is unable to authorize for solicitation or run a NAAPAC campaign, but would still like to take part in the political process, the company may write a check to the NAA Better Government Fund.
Under federal law, NAAPAC is prohibited from using corporate funds to support federal candidates. However, NAA Better Government Fund may accept corporate contributions to defer expenses incurred for educational purposes, political, and legislative events. This saves money and enables NAAPAC to give all of its funds directly to candidates. By law, these funds must be maintained in an account separate from that in which the personal dollar contributions are deposited.
There is no limit on the amount an individual or corporation can give to the NAA Better Government Fund. Checks should be made payable to the NAA Better Government Fund. If you are a member of the NAA and would like to participate in NAAPAC, please fill out our Authorization to Solicit form.
We thank those members who have contributed this year to NAA BGF and look forward to continued expansion of our political programs and reputation.
