Homeownership is an important part of the American fabric, but it isn't for everyone and universal homeownership won’t make our nation stronger. We need to move beyond old stereotypes and stop measuring people’s "worth" to their community merely by whether they choose to own or rent. We need a more balanced housing policy that includes incentives for, and values, the role of apartments in our housing system.
