 Building Codes - NAA/NMHC Support ICC Codes in California 

 
NAA/NMHC 

The National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) and the National Apartment Association (NAA) oppose the recommendation by the California Building Standards Commission (CBSC) that California adopt the new National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Building Construction and Safety Code (NFPA 5000-2003). NFPA 5000-2003 is incomplete, unenforceable and technically unsound. In contrast, the model code set developed by the International Code Council (ICC) which includes the International Building Code (IBC) and the International Fire Code (IFC), is a complete set of comprehensive, compatible, enforceable and technically sound codes that can be adopted without modification.
