NAA/NMHC appreciates the opportunity to offer comments on this rule as part of our continuing dialogue with the federal government on the issue of lead in the environment. The past 20 years have seen a remarkable reduction in blood lead levels (BLL) across the population. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services report, Healthy People 2010, the decline in childhood lead poisoning in the United States represents a public health success.
