Thank you for your letter of November 27, 2001,requesting that HUD allow owners to make renter's insurance available to project residents and to collect the monthly premium payments from the residents. You point out that the insurance would be through a reputable insurance company and that its purchase by residents would he voluntary rather than mandatory. According to your research, collection by owners of insurance premiums from assisted families would not be in violation
of any HUD laws or policies.
