Code Alert: NAA has received reports from affiliate associations that local governments are considering the adoption of the 2009 International Fire Code (IFC), which contains several expensive fire safety retrofit requirements. These requirements, if adopted in their unamended form, will cost members several thousands of dollars per property.
NAA members and affiliates are strongly encouraged to investigate whether legislators and regulators at the state and local level are considering adoption of the 2009 IFC.
