 Affordable Housing - Coalition Letter Regarding Mandatory Green Requirements in HOPE VI , 2008

Our members are committed to working on increasing the sustainability of affordable housing, as well as keeping housing affordable in all markets. We believe that mandatory green requirements in the HOPE VI program will have unintended consequences that far outweigh any sustainability gains. Dramatic reductions in additional HOPE VI projects is a very real possibility because of increased costs that developers would have to finance based on the proposed provisions in the bill.
