Policy Makers Call for a More Balanced Housing Policy

3/29/2010
NAA/NMHC

At a March 23, 2010 hearing on housing finance reform hearing, House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-MA) stated several times that the government makes a mistake when it "overly invests in homeownership" and is "better off trying to subsidize rental housing."

His comments were echoed by others on the panel from across the political spectrum. Watch a video of the testimony on NAA's YouTube Channel.
