NAA’s multifaceted Government Affairs program provides first-rate advocacy for its members as well as supports its affiliates’ work to positively affect public policy decisions at the state and local levels.

The NAA Legislative Committee
This is the focal point within NAA on federal, state and local policy issues as well as NAA’s overall advocacy strategy.
The NAA/NMHC Joint Legislative Program
NAA and the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) have united for 20 years under the JLP to support federal legislative and regulatory policies. NMHC is the lead on federal advocacy efforts and NAA is the lead on state and local advocacy as well as grassroots engagement on federal issues.
State and Local Government Affairs
The state and local staff members track legislation in all 50 states and monitor the activities of more than 20 national policymaking and issue organizations.
NAA Political Action Committee
NAAPAC seeks to support Congressional candidates who represent good government and understand the needs and concerns of the multifamily housing industry.
Apartment Industry Mobilization Service
AIMS is a network of more than 58,000 apartment industry advocates who have banded together as the voice of the multifamily housing industry. Its objective is to have a grassroots mechanism in place to marshal local efforts to affect federal legislation.
Communications and Public Affairs
NAA Government Affairs communicates externally with policymakers and the news media and internally with members and affiliates through numerous vehicles and communications exchanges – all to provide and share timely information on the latest issues impacting the industry.
