It’s nearly impossible to kill a cactus. They’re like the chill, Southern California dude of the plant world. It’s hard to get them riled up.
And yet the cactus in my office was clinging to life but a few weeks ago, deprived of water for so long that pieces of it began giving up and just breaking off.
This does not bode well for my future children, not to mention my wallet.

Recently I’ve been noticing a larger than normal amount of questions in class regarding teamwork. Specifically about how the two main teams, the office and maintenance teams, on our properties function together. These questions are originating from maintenance technicians frustrated with the office staff, as well as leasing professionals frustrated with the maintenance staff.

My oldest group of friends—the girls with whom I went to high school—are rather…competitive. Specifically with board games.
During an incredibly intense round of Taboo, my one friend’s boyfriend snapped a wooden stool leg in half. They broke up shortly thereafter. Another friend’s husband removed his wedding ring during a similar disagreement. I’m happy to report they are still together.
