A few months ago I ordered $200 worth of business cards for a webseries I write on the side. To play it safe, I had them sent straight to my friend in New York, where I could pick them up when I arrived later that week for filming. I know someone who—after a series of email “incidents”, shall we say—set up her work inbox to send all emails on a three-minute delay. We’ll call it the post-Janet Jackson Super Bowl approach to office life.
While I’ve had the good fortune of an A+ report card for work correspondence—save a few delayed responses that all begin with “my apologies”—I can’t say the same for my personal email.

Much like a 5-year-old, my nightly routine consists of refusing to take myself to bed when I’m tired; instead falling asleep on the couch with all of the lights on until 2 a.m., when I finally stumble into my bedroom too tired to brush my teeth.

The trunk of my car functions as a combination storage unit / Dumpster. Still, nothing could prepare me for last week, when I was searching for a pair of heels and pulled out a tote bag from my best friend’s wedding in October.
