Arlington, VA, June 27, 2009 — Sueba USA Corporation’s Ventura Lofts in Houston was named National Apartment Association’s (NAA) PARAGON Community of the Year at the NAA Education Conference & Exposition at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Convention Center in Las Vegas.
The awards recognize the multifamily housing industry’s top communities, executives, employees and affiliate programs.
With its 265 luxury apartment homes, Ventura Lofts Apartment Homes considers itself to be a “Class A++” apartment community. Units range from 952 to 1,635 square feet and feature high ceilings, oversized windows, stainless steel appliances, plank and tile flooring, large island kitchens and front-loading washers and dryers.
Ventura Lofts (2401 South Gessner Road) has helped to revitalize Houston’s Westchase District and was nominated as “New Westchase District Business of the Year for 2008.” Since Ventura’s grand opening in May 2008, the community has averaged 17 leases per month, which is commensurate with the high-end, low-density nature of this property. It is managed by Southhampton Management, which is owned by Sueba. Compass Bank provided the construction financing.
Ventura Lofts also won a PARAGON in the category for best Mid/High Rise, Post 2000, over 150 units.
NAA President Douglas Culkin, CAE, said, “As a strong national federation, an annual awards program is one of the most critical programs we provide. By sharing the following profiles on the winning individuals, communities and organizations, all members of our industry are able to see these models of excellence, and share in these best practices.”
A list of all winners and details about each will appear in the September 2009 issue of units magazine.
