 Easy Being Green: "They planted a tree for me!"

On Wednesday, Apr. 29, Robin Pharo, President, Healthy Home Reports, LLC and speaker at the recently held 2009 NAA Green Conference & Exposition*, posted "They planted a tree for me!" on the Easy Being Green blog site, where she is the main contributor. The post highlights her experience at the event and offers suggestions to other planners looking to "green" their meetings:

They planted a tree for me!
As a traveling road warrior and a green consultant, the two worlds are often difficult to reconcile. As much as I love teach others how to be “green”, my carbon foot-print continues to grow.

This week, I flew to Phoenix to speak at the National Apartment Association at their Green Communities Conference. They were a great organization to work with and really put a lot of thought into how they could green their conference, which I highlight below. But what really impressed me was that my speakers gift was a donation to the Arbor Foundation to plant trees in my honor. I still smile when I look at the nice certificate I will proudly display in my office.

Take a few ideas that they used on their event for your next event and you can “green” your meetings and events, too.
