
Orlando, Fla., June 30, 2008 - The National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI) is pleased to announce that Tami Fossum, CAPS, of High Point, N.C., has been awarded Professional Designate of the Year. Ms. Fossum was recognized at the 2008 PARAGON Awards Ceremony Saturday evening at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
"Tami and her colleagues represent the best and the brightest in the apartment industry," said Alexandra Jackiw, CAPS, CPM, NAAEI President. "Tami has shown exemplary skills in developing company training programs in addition to her active participation in her local apartment association’s committee activities. Tami is a proven role model and industry resource, so much that she has been referred to as the ‘Wonder Woman’ of property management. We are very pleased to bestow Tami with the 2008 NAA PARAGON Award for Professional Designate of the Year, the highest honor that our industry grants annually."
Ms. Fossum has more than 18 years of community management experience, having been with Blue Ridge Property Management since 2005, where she serves as Regional Asset Manager. In her career with Blue Ridge, she has assisted in the development of the following company programs; Champion Shoppers Program; Employee Evaluation Program; Development of policies and procedures manual; new property start up checklist; Disposition Checklist; and Orientation training program checklists.
Ms. Fossum holds her Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS) designation through NAAEI and Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) designation through the National Association of Home Builders. She received her Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation in 1994 and holds Real Estate Broker licenses in North Carolina and South Carolina Salesman licenses. She has been actively involved in the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association (GCAA) since 1993 and currently serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer. The GCAA recognized Ms. Fossum in 2003 as Manager of the Year, in 2005 as Volunteer of the Year and in 2007 as Instructor of the Year. Ms. Fossum is also a NAAEI Faculty member and a NAA Lyceum candidate.
