June 22, 2007 — Yardi made a $300,000 contribution to the National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI) today as NAAEI began its second phase of fund raising.
NAAEI surpassed its initial fund-raising goal of $5 million last July, raising $5.26 million. Yardi’s investment, the third largest ever received by NAAEI, begins the pursuit of the second goal of $8 million.
“Yardi has a strong commitment to the industry and our future work force,” said NAAEI President Bill Wollinger, President, WinnResidential, Boston. “We thank the entire Yardi team for the confidence they have placed in NAAEI in helping us to achieve the goals of the Institute.”
Yardi’s investment will be recognized during the June 27 Board of Directors meeting and at Friday’s General session June 29 at the 2007 NAA Education Conference & Exposition in Las Vegas.
“We applaud the National Apartment Association for creating an Educational Institute that is focused on providing education to apartment industry professionals,” Anant Yardi, President and CEO of Yardi, said. “We are pleased to be able to contribute to NAAEI. NAAEI will strengthen our apartment industry and will help us provide a higher level of service to our clients.”
NAAEI is an independent entity created by NAA whose mission is to provide broad-based education, training and recruitment programs that attract, nurture and retain quality professionals and develop tomorrow’s industry leaders.
The Institute will:
** Create awareness of apartment careers;
** Develop a comprehensive managerial development program;
** Work with NAA’s national network of affiliates to build a recruitment pipeline for the industry; and
** Identify and promote career ladders and competencies for apartment management.
Deane Dolben, CAPS, Chairman of the NAAEI Capital Campaign and President of The Dolben Company, said, “Investments made during the first phase of fund-raising for NAAEI have already been put to work through specialized projects and outreach. This second phase will help allow us to continue to make incredible progress in building and providing the right tools for the apartment industry and carry out all of the Institute’s goals.”
