NAA provides members with industry education and training opportunities and monitors, tracks and advocates for legislation and regulation at the local, state and federal levels. From 1991 through 1998, the Fair Housing Act guidelines were revised several times, causing confusion in the rental housing industry.
The “Ensuring Accessible Housing” course has been designed to address this confusion. It addresses the basic elements of the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and delineates the differences between the two. It is designed for rental housing front-line personnel to take at their desktops while working at their property.
After completing the course, you will know:
- The relevant points of the FHA and the ADA, with an emphasis on what is new, changed or confusing.
- How to apply the FHA and ADA guidelines to their work.
The course has five content sections:
- Which Statutes Apply to Your Property?
- Accessible Units
- Accessible Common Areas
- Publicly-Assisted Housing
- Discrimination, Modification and Accommodations.
Cost
Members - $24.99
Non-Members - $99.00
Designates - $19.99 (until March 31, 2008)
